#Several times over the last 60 years, Georgia has experienced extreme drought leading to empty reservoirs, water restrictions, and dry riverbeds. Water, or lack of it, is important to Georgia's citizens and is increasingly at the forefront of local, national, and international attention. Conservation of finite water supplies is of paramount importance to society, and the pressure to manage water supplies more effectively is forcing engineers and scientists to develop new management strategies.
